My Review of The Possession

Allure and I chose to put the movie The Possession under our microscopes because we wanted to be thrilled and horrified—and we were. Many movies have shown us human possession by evil forces and its chilling side effects. In the horror genre, a possession movie is classic and easy to follow. Ever since The Exorcist, people have known what to expect from the genre, which allows the director to go straight into the action with minimal explanation. If you are like me, you are an action junkie!

The movie is a about a girl and her father, who buy a mysterious box at a garage sale expecting to find wondrous contents contained inside. However, the little girl discovers, to her doom, that the box contains a demon. I am sure you have guessed, even if you have not seen the movie, that Emily then becomes possessed by the demon that lives in the box.

If you are a fan of movies like The Exorcist, you will like The Possession. It has a pretty good cast, which includes Natasha Calis, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and Kyra Sedgwick, whose performances were believable. The main character, Emily (played by Calis), was very convincing as a possessed girl. Overall it is a good movie, but do not expect a life-changing or enlightening experience. Just go and enjoy it for what it is. I certainly had fun watching it. If you saw The Possession, please leave your thoughts about the movie in our Comments section. *Please label Spoiler comments as such*

Keyth's Review of the movie, "The Words"

My Review of the movie,  "The Words"

Be careful of how you use words because words can hurt. In some situations, words can ruin lives. In the movie “The Words’’ the audience witnesses just how powerful words can be. This movie is a classic movie within a movie. If done right, a movie within a movie can be as poetic as William Shakespeare’s Mid Summer’s Night Dream.

I went into this movie with some expectations because I heard it was engaging and worthwhile from my counterpart Allure. Ms Allure strongly suggested I see this movie so I could review it for our blogs. I am thrilled that she did; it is a great picture. It is definitely thought provoking. The movie haunted me a bit. I am a huge fan of subtle psychological thrillers. “The Words” was a fresh take on a familiar concept. To me, the best movies present the viewing audience with a believable scenario full of identifiable characters that are faced with ethical dilemmas. The movie, “The Words,” fulfills the previously mentioned parameters. I highly recommend this movie to anyone that enjoys a smart movie.

I will avoid telling you the details, because I prefer to watch a plot develop rather than read about it, and I will assume that you share my thoughts that this is the best way to enjoy a feature film. A brief synopsis of the storyline follows: this is a movie about writer who that is faced with a moral decision. Should he act ethically and throw away his future? Alternatively, should he act unethically and possibly throw away his future? You will see his decision if you decide to see the movie. Personally, I would opt to go with the ethically correct decision because, at the end of the day, the one place that is inescapable is one’s own mind.

The movie has a good message. The message I took away is that life is short, but it is up to us to choose how we live. When you read Allure’s review, it might appear that we watched different movies; however, we saw the same movie – just from different perspectives. If you go see “The Words,” or if you have already seen it, please let us know who got it right by commenting on our respective blogs.

Pin Watch - Disney Mickey Mouse Trading Pins

Welcome to Disney Pin Watch!

The goal of this blog is to find great deals and share information on rare LE (limited Edition) pins. The Internet gives information overload on Disney Pins, which is not good. My friends drown in the abundance of search engine results; after discussing this issue with my friends over drinks, I decided to create this blog to help them and anyone else who find this information useful.

This is the first post in a weekly blog. I am committing to updating you with the latest Disney trading pin treasures every week. I will be as detailed as possible and search the Internet thoroughly to save you time and let you focus on the most important task for a pin trader: having fun collecting your favorite pins, an experience that no dollar amount can be assigned to. I’ll contradict myself now, though, and say that if there is a way to get low prices on LE signed pins to add to your collection of rare finds, well, that is the true reward of the skilled pin-trading expert.

I actually own two pins which are currently being bid on eBay. Please see the links below. The price of the bids is very low at the moment, and there is a cash-back incentive and free shipping. I am watching both pins, and if they stay rather low and one of my friends do not bid on them, I might decide to have a matching set. At the very least, having an extra LE 500 signed Mickey Mouse Disney pins is a good advantage when my friends and I get together to pin trade.

I looked up the value of these Disney pins on Create-A-Pin (Cast Members Create Magic and Proud to be a Cast Member) at http://pinpics.com/links.htm. I found a wealth of information on the value of these pins there. First, I will explain how we determine the value of Disney Pins. Disney Pin values are based on how coveted the pin is by pin traders and the number of pins available for trade on the Internet. Plug the numbers into the formula: a/w = v (available pins/pins wanted = pin value). This formula is simple, but it is the best way to determine the value of your Disney Pins. This formula has saved me from overpaying on pins and made me hyperaware of opportunities to get rare LE pins at low prices. The initial retail price of a Disney does not determine its later value.

Cast Members Create Magic: a = 10, w = 93, v = a must buy

I find the PinPic website to be a great resource in researching Disney Pins. If you are just starting out or want to learn more about Disney Pins, this is the website for you.

Please send any questions to me, and I’ll talk to you next week.

Arrivederci and Happy Pin Trading!
